Shana Levin

Shana Levin is Crown Professor of Psychology and George R. Roberts Fellow at Claremont McKenna College. She was Associate Dean of the Faculty for Research from July 2016-August 2020 and March 2021-June 2022, Co-Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty from September 2020-February 2021, and Chair of the Psychological Science Department from 2011-2013.

Professor Levin teaches a variety of courses related to social and political psychology, prejudice, intergroup relations, and psychological statistics. Her current research examines cross-cultural intergroup conflict. She has published over 50 journal articles and book chapters, one co-authored book, and one co-edited book.

She was co-winner of the 2014 Gordon Allport Intergroup Relations Prize awarded by the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues for the best paper or article of the year on intergroup relations. She received the 2007 Early Career Research Award from the Western Psychological Association, the 2012 G. David Huntoon Senior Teaching Award from CMC, and the 2019 Award for Distinguished Service to the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues. Dr. Levin also co-founded the Claremont Faculty Leadership Program in 2017.
